About Me

Empowering Youth in Clallam and Jefferson Counties for Independent Futures

Peninsula Youth & Family Services (PYFS) is a private contractor in Washington State that works to provide essential services for youth transitioning out of foster care into our community as thriving young adults. PYFS was established in 2009 when the owner, who was initially working as a part-time case manager, for Family Centered Practice, now defunct, was entrusted the practice when the former contractor closed her business to work for the Lower Elwha Tribe. PYFS has focused exclusively on working with current and former eligible foster youth since 2009. The owner's passion for adolescents and dedication to their well-being led to the creation of PYFS, and has led to the expansion of services that extend to those that care about these youth, as well.

The business stands out as the only Independent Living Skills (ILS) provider on the Olympic Peninsula, catering to current and former foster youth aged 15–23. PYFS offers programs such as Independent Living Skills, Transitional Living Skills, Education, Advocacy, Health & Wellness Coaching, Financial Literacy, Employment & Career Exploration, Post-Secondary Education and Vocational Training Scholarship, Funding and Application Assistance, Practical Daily Living Skills and Housing and Community Assistance. Youth can access these services through various channels, including virtual classes, workshops, one-on-one sessions, and, soon, self-paced courses.

Our team is passionate about providing the essential services our clients need in order to help them reach their full potential and succeed by developing essential skills and resources for a successful transition into adult life. We are committed to empowering young people and helping them develop the necessary skills for independent living and a brighter future. If you would like to learn more about PYFS, please don't hesitate to contact me, I love to talk about ILS and these youth!.
