Transitional Living Skills

At Peninsula Youth & Family Services, we are proud to offer the Transitional Living Skills (TLS) program to eligible current and former foster youth aged 18 to 23 years. Funded by federal and state dollars through a contract with the Department of Children, Youth, and Families, this free program aims to support young adults in their journey toward independence and success.
Our comprehensive TLS program offers educational services ranging from literacy training to assistance in accessing college or vocational programs. It also provides guidance on job search, application processes, and interview skills. Our team of dedicated professionals is ready to guide you and help you secure employment.
We understand that the transition to independent living can be challenging, which is why one-on-one counseling is available to help develop essential life skills such as financial management, maintaining a household, making informed spending decisions, and addressing financial difficulties. The program also accounts for those who have children by offering guidance on parenting, connecting participants with healthcare professionals when necessary, and providing information on community resources for socializing and support.
